The Counselor Gets Counciled

The leaders of the House Oversight Committee say Kellyanne Conway, a top aide to the president, may have broken ethics rules on national TV. The alleged violation happened during an interview on Fox News when Conway urged viewers to buy Ivanka Trump's brand, which was recently dropped from Nordstrom.

Legal experts quickly pointed out that the plug violates a law which prohibits the use of public office to endorse a product. Utah Congressman, Jason Chaffetz, and Maryland Congressman, Elijah Cummings, sent a letter to the Office of Government Ethics asking them to review Conway's statements and report on what disciplinary action is warranted.

White House spokesman, Sean Spicer, said in a briefing that Conway had been "counseled" on the matter.

Let me point out ignorance of the law is no defense. It might be getting to the point where is best for President Trump to cut and run from his special counselor. I'm sure she could land a sweet gig at the home shopping network.
