(Smithfield, RI) -- Fire officials are investigating a possible carbon monoxide leak that sent five people to the hospital. Authorities say emergency crews arrived at a home on Pleasant View Avenue in Smithfield around 8:30 last night and found three children and two adults that had been overcome by carbon monoxide. Two of the children were unconscious and taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital while the parents were taken to Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. Investigators say they are looking into a possible problem with the home's heating system.
