President Trump says he wants to rebuild the U.S. nuclear arsenal to make it the best in the world. Trump told Reuters in an exclusive interview that a nuclear weapons buildup is necessary because the U.S. has fallen behind in its nuclear capacity. "A dream would be that no country would have nukes," Trump offered. "But if countries are going to have nukes, we're going to be at the top of the pack."

Trump also told the news service Russia's deployment of a cruise missile violates an arms control treaty and vowed to broach the topic when he meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The President also believes the U.S. security challenge presented by North Korea could be resolved through more pressure from China and said he's "very angry" at North Korea for its recent ballistic missile tests.

Presidential spokesman Sean Spicer backed that up during his daily briefing says the U.S. will not yield supremacy on nuclear weapons. “What he made very clear…,” Spicer noted. “Is that if other countries have nuclear capabilities, it will always be the United States that has the supremacy and commitment to this.”
