(Providence, RI) -- There's a bill in both the House and Senate to create a special fundraising license plate to benefit the Gaspee Days Committee. The specialty plate would include a 40-dollar issuance fee to be split between the committee and the state's general fund. Gaspee Days commemorates the burning of the British ship HMS Gaspee in 1772 off the coast of Warwick.
