I'M FROM THE GOVERNMENT AND I'M HERE TO HELP

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's asking the federal government to ban airlines from overbooking flights. When we asked YOU in a poll question last week, 67% of you said NO WAY. All government can do is make the situation worse.

An attorney for the passenger who was violently dragged off a United Airlines flight at Chicago's O'Hare Airport last Sunday said Thursday (April 13th) that Dr. David Dao had suffered a concussion, a broken nose and the loss of two of his teeth in the incident, and will need reconstructive surgery. Thomas Demetrio indicated at a news conference yesterday that Dao will be suing United and the city of Chicago, which employs the officers who pulled him out of his seat and dragged him off the flight. Dao, who was released from the hospital on Wednesday, wasn't at yesterday's news conference, but Demetrio said he will speak at a future date. One of Dao's adult children, Crystal Pepper, was there, and said the family was, quote, "horrified, shocked and sickened" by what happened. Demetrio said neither Dao nor his family had heard from United, but the airline said in a statement after the news conference that CEO Oscar Munoz and the airline had called Dao several times to apologize. Something tells me the good doctor's going get more than an extra package of Cheese Doodles.
