(East Providence, RI) -- An East Providence woman is due in court tomorrow on charges that she assaulted a city councilman. The incident happened last Thursday at a fund raiser at Metacomet Country Club when East Councilman Brian Faria claims Maria Stoddard approached him yelling obscenities. Faria told police things got physical when Stoddard was on top of him pulling his hair. Stoddard serves on several boards and committees in the city.
