Restaurant Owner Sentenced To Prison

(Providence, RI)  --  A Massachusetts man is going to federal prison for 15 years for burning down his restaurant in Rhode Island.  Daniel Saad of Spencer was convicted in January and sentenced yesterday for setting fire to Snow's Clam Box Restaurant and Pub in Glocester.  Prosecutors say it was part of a scheme to collect on an insurance policy worth almost one-million-dollars.  According to government evidence presented during a trial, Saad owed banks, private lenders and vendors nearly two-and-a-half-million-dollars at the time the fire was set.
