(Providence, RI) -- The longest serving Providence City Councilman, Kevin Jackson is out of office after overwhelmingly losing a recall election yesterday. The results must be certified and then a special election will be set after City Council formally declares the seat vacant. Elected in 1995 to Ward Three, the 58-year old Jackson was arrested last May for embezzling more than $127,000 from a youth track and field team and using campaign funds for personal expenses.
