(Jamestown, RI) -- Officials at Beavertail State Park in Jamestown are working with Mystic Aquarium and the Department of Environmental Management to remove a dead whale carcass from the shore. Park officials say the humpback whale is more than 30 feet long and appeared on the rocks between Thursday and Friday attracting curious visitors to the park. A necropsy will determine the cause of the whale's death.
