(Cranston, RI) -- Two historic cannons could soon be back where one official says is the natural place for them to be. The city of Cranston is working on returning two 19th century cannons to the Governor William Sprague Mansion sometime next month. The cannons were removed from the mansion for refurbishing three months ago and are now in the National Guard Armory in Providence. The Cranston mayor's office tells the "Providence Journal" the only remaining hurdle is clarifying who actually owns the cannons.
