State Lawmakers Vote To Disarm Domestic Abusers

(Providence, RI)  --  A bill that would take guns out of the hands of domestic abusers is advancing in the Rhode Island legislature.  Last night, lawmakers in the State House approved a bill that would require anyone who has a restraining order against them to turn in their firearms.  The bill also bans anyone who has been convicted of a violent crime from possessing a gun for six years.  The bill is now headed to the State Senate for approval.
