ONE STEP FORWARD FOR TRILLO...TWO STEPS BACK FOR FEROCE

Former Warwick lawmaker Joe Trillo's sounding more and more like a 2018 candidate for Governor. Trillo held what he called "exploring Rhode Island's future" event at the Crown Plaza Tuesday night saying once again he's giving serious consideration a run for governor. The honorary chair of Donald Trump's RI campaign told the crowd he wants to fight for state taxpayers and NOT for special interests. I guess the ri\room would have cleared out if he had THAT in reverse. Trillo could be in a primary battle with Cranston Mayor Allen Fung and House Minority Leader Patricia Morgan. Eyewitness News even had a photo of a TRILLO FOR GOVERNOR 2018 poster in its coverage. Another person who says he's considering running in former Alex and Ani and Benrus bigwig Gio Feroce who finds himself in headlines for a much different reason. Two former employees who are suing him have obtained liens on his Newport mansion totaling $350 K. One claims she went without pay as Benrus director of sales, the other, a designer, says she's owed back wages and a severance. Feroce Newport mansionhas been on the market for two years and it's already riddled with a cluster of leans, including $3.2 million by the IRS. The mansion's scheduled for a tax sale in late August. Feroce owes over $63, 000 in taxes. One step forward for Trillo, two steps back for Feroce.
