CELEBRATING FREEDOM...AND THAT INCLUDES TWEETS

President Trump came under bipartisan criticism yesterday (June 29th) for his morning Twitter attack on MSNBC's Mika Brzezinksi co-host with Joe Scarborough of the show, Morning Joe. Trump tweeted: "I heard poorly rated @Morning-Joe speaks badly of me (don't watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year's Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!" It was speculated Trump may have been responding to Brzezinski talking on her show less than an hour earlier about Trump having apparently hung a fake Time magazine cover with him on it at his golf courses. She said, "Nothing makes a man feel better than making a fake cover of a magazine about himself lying every day and destroying the country." Brzezinski also referred to the claim that gets under Trump's skin that he has small hands, saying he was covering his hands on the fake Time cover, quote, "because they're teensy." After Trump's tweet about her, Brzezinski posted a photo on Twitter of a Cheerios box that included the phrase, "made for little hands."

Both Republican and Democratic lawmakers spoke out against Trump's attack, including GOP Senator Ben Sasse of Nevada, who tweeted, "Please just stop. This isn't normal and it's beneath the dignity of your office." Another Republican, Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, said, "Mr. President, your tweet was beneath the office and represents what's wrong with American politics, not the greatness of America."

Curiously enough this Twitter war comes as we celebrate our Freedom...and that includes freedom of speech, no matter how juvenile or uncomfortable that speech can be.
