Electrical Fire Displaces Senior Living Residents

(Smithfield, RI)  --  More than 50 residents of an affordable senior housing building are temporarily displaced after an electrical fire.  The fire happened around 10:30 a.m. Monday at Georgiaville Manor on Higgins Street in Smithfield.  The cause of the fire was traced to a shorted out electrical panel that knocked out power to the building.   Residents will be able to move back in after the electrical panel is fixed and approved for the power to be turned back on.
