STATE LAWMAKERS HAD BETTER WAKE UP SOON

Pawsox officials traveled to Worcester last week as that city tries to woo the Triple A team to Wormtown. Pawtucket Mayor Don Grebien warns that each day that passes by without RI lawmakers considering a proposed deal to build a new stadium on Pawtucket's old Apex site, the chances of losing the Pawsox increase. The team, city and Pawsox had an agreement in place that their relationship would remain monogamous through the General Assembly session, but when House Speaker Nicholas Mattiello's gavel came down and ended the session without even addressing the most recent deal which Governor Raimodno says is a good one for the state. This comes as we're in week four of a state budget impasse because the House Speaker and Senate President Dominick Ruggierio are still going back and forth on a Senate amendment that rubs the Speaker the wrong way. All this as cities and towns are due increased aid for schools NEXT WEEK. With such nonsense going on, do you have ANY faith lawmakers will regroup for a special fall session to consider the new stadium deal? Talk about fiddlin' while Rome burns. Jues remember who let the Pawsox slip away when it's election time.
