IS A PRESIDENT EVER REALLY ON VACATION?

Critics are blasting President Trump's 17-day stay at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. White House aides are pushing back, though, and want to make it clear the president is on a “working vacation.”

Trump also took to Twitter to defend his trip: “Working in Bedminster, N.J., as long planned construction is being done at the White House. This is not a vacation — meetings and calls!” he tweeted.

Workers have already gotten started on some major renovations which include upgrades to the facility’s 27-year-old air-conditioning and heating systems, new wiring, paint and carpets. President Obama took a lot of heat for his numerous golfing breaks during which he was virtually silent while big news events were taking place. It created terrible optics. Trump took to twitter this weekend to address North Korea, the economy and more. To think the President of the United States can seek even a ONE DAY fortress of solitude with today's technology is ridiculous. Maybe...MAYBE back when Eisenhower was hittting the links, but not today.
