(North Smithfield, RI) -- A soldier from North Smithfield is being mourned after he was killed at Fort Carson, Colorado. The U.S. Army says that 20-year old Specialist Matthew Turcotte was shot to death around 230 a.m. Wednesday during a live-fire exercise. Turcotte joined the Army in 2015 and was previously deployed to Kosovo. Turcotte was a 2015 graduate of North Smithfield High School.
