(Smithfield, RI) -- A Pascoag man is facing multiple charges, including DUI, after hitting a police cruiser. Smithfield Police say the accident happened around 1 a.m. Saturday along Douglas Pike as the officer was issuing a citation to a motorist who was stopped for a traffic violation. Authorities say 32-year old Derek T. Lewis struck the officer's cruiser. The officer was treated for minor injuries.
