(Providence, RI) -- Drivers across the country are paying 16-cents more for a gallon of regular gas today compared to a week ago. Prices in Rhode Island are 27-cents per gallon higher than last Friday. The rise is blamed on an interruption of oil production during Hurricane Harvey. Triple-A says the average cost for a gallon of regular gas nationwide is two-dollars-and-67-cents today. The price per gallon in Rhode Island is two-75. That's a penny higher per gallon than in Massachusetts, but 13-cents lower than Connecticut drivers are paying.
