(Providence, RI) -- Dozens are signing up for what one volunteer calls the toughest job you'll ever love. That's how Rhode Island Red Cross volunteer Ken Wadland describes helping victims of natural disasters, like Hurricane Irma. Wadland and others are heading to Florida to help with recovery efforts. The Red Cross tells WPRI-TV it has had a surge in volunteers after people saw the devastation from Hurricane Harvey caused in Texas.
