A judge sent "Pharma Bro" Bruglione MartinShkreli to jail yesterday (September 13th), revoking his $5 million bail for a securities fraud conviction after he offered a $5,000 bounty to anyone who could grab him one ofHillary Clinton'ss hairs while she's on her current book tour. Shkreli's attorneys argued that the Facebook post had been political satire, but U.S. District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto didn't agree, saying the bounty could be taken seriously and be viewed as a solicitation of assault, ruling that it violated his bail. Prosecutors told the judge that the message had alarmed the Secret Service detail that protects Clinton. The former pharmaceutical company CEO, who is best known for hugely spiking the price of a life-saving drug for AIDS and cancer patients, was found guilty last month on unrelated charges that he cheated investors in two failed hedge funds he ran. Shkreli will be sentenced in January, and will now remain jailed until then. Hey, Pharma Bro, give our best to Bubba and the rest of your well deserved friends!
