(Providence, RI) -- The state Department of Transportation is suspending ferry service from Providence to Newport until Thursday. The suspension in service is because Hurricane Jose is expected to create rough seas. Passengers who use the Block Island Ferry should watch its web site and social media for announcements, which could come as early as this morning.
