(Providence, RI) -- Not all of the money people are putting in Providence's giving meters is going to charity. City officials disclosed this week that when a debit or credit card is used, several fees are paid out of the donation account. There are ten of the orange meters around the city and if someone donates just a dollar, 35% of the contribution goes for fees.
