(Richmond, RI) -- The Richmond community is mourning the loss of a Chariho High School senior as more than 1,000 people attended a vigil last night. The candlelight vigil honored 17-year-old Maddie Potts who died from a brain aneurysm while playing soccer Saturday. Potts' mother told the crowd to continue the activities and sports they love. The Rhode Island Interscholastic League is asking students to observe a moment of silence before games this week.
