ONE PATRIOTS FAN WON'T STAND FOR THE KNEELING

One lifetime Patriots fan is so hot under the collar over the NFL National Anthem controversy he's ready to protest in a unique way. Swansea resident Mark Shane says he paid $700 bucks for three tickets to Sunday's game against the Texans at Gillette Stadium and was incensed to see a number of Patriots "taking the knee" while the anthem played. The Providence Journal reported to Shane, racial injustice...the alleged reason for the silent protests and the knee...is not the issue. He says it's about disrespect for the flag, the country and its veterans. In response, Shane's staging a Patriots jersey burning protest at his home on Gardner's Neck Road Thursday night at 7. He's gotten a thumbs up from Town Hall and the police department as long as he doesn't block traffic or interfere with passersby. He knows folks who disagree with him will show up and he's OK with that. And, bye the way, he's only burning the jerseys of those Patriots who knelt.
