(Providence, RI) -- A planned boutique hotel is hitting opposition to the project on former Interstate-195 land along the Providence River. Developer Gerald Fandetti wants to build the 52-room hotel on less than a quarter acre of land that was once a helipad on South Water Street. Opponents want to keep the space open. Approval is being considered by the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission, but now has been delayed until at least October 16th.
