(South Kingstown, RI) -- Officials are focusing on the financing of a proposed stadium for the Pawtucket Red Sox. Senators at last night's public hearing in South Kingstown wanted to know who would back the city's bonds if revenue falls short. Opponents of the eighty-three million dollar project called for a public referendum on the thirty-eight million dollars in bonds the city and state would issue for the stadium and ancillary development around the facility. Supporters believe the project will help revitalize Pawtucket as it would be built on the site of along vacant department store.
