THE NFL Players Association is standing behind players' rights to protest the national anthem. The union releasing a statement in support of its members after V-P Mike Pence walked out of the Colts-49ers game in Indy Sunday after several San Francisco players knelt during the anthem. The statement says conversations about difficult issues shouldn't be stifled. The union's right, dialogue about social issues should be gagged...but a football field's the LAST place for such discussions. People go to NFL games to ESCAPE such things. Its entertainment. It's supposed to give us a few hours AWAY from reality. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has it right. He says any player who doesn't stand during the national anthem won't play. My guess is Pats owner Robert Kraft has made that clear to his players but not publicly. Don't stand? Don't play and maybe NO PAY? If you don't pay these mercenaries watch how quickly they stand and salute.
