Megyn Kelly thought she had issues with Jane Fonda and Debra Messing in her opening week. This week’s troubles are much worse.
Apparently “Megyn Kelly Today” is bringing down the “Today” franchise. An insider said, “Not only are ratings plummeting since [she] joined…but the numbers show that [her] lead-in has also affected Kathie Lee [Gifford] and Hoda Kotb’s show.” The former Fox News host' hour of the morning show is down 32 percent compared to a year ago, and “Kathie Lee & Hoda” is down 26 percent. The problem, according to a second source, is that the format makes no sense.
Still, an NBC insider tried to look at the bright side of things. “Everyone knows that ratings fluctuate at the start of a new show,” the source explained. Listen, NBC, you can shine horse poop. When the network brought Kelly in from FOX, her first assignment was an over hyped exclusive interview with Russian President Vlad Putin airing on the network's DATELINE program. The sit down was panned by journalism pundits and viewers alike as weak. By the time MEGYN KELLY debuted, she was lobbing softballs at the cast of WILL AND GRACE and the Kardashians and was skipped over during the show's Monday coverage the Las Vegas shootings. Remember, NBC's the network that brought us MY MOTHER THE CAR. Looks like they've done it again.
