(Providence, RI) -- House GOP Leader Patricia Morgan is officially running for governor of Rhode Island. Morgan plans to post a video on social media and her campaign website on Monday to explain why she is running in the Republican primary next year. It's anticipated that Democratic incumbent Gina Raimondo will run for re-election. No other Republicans have formally announced their candidacies to compete with Morgan, although Cranston mayor Allan Fung has said he is running, and former state representative Joseph Trillo has expressed interest.
