(Burrillville, RI) -- Residents in the northwestern Rhode Island town of Burrillville are getting more information about the condition of their drinking water. Rhode Island Department of Health officials shared their findings with residents on Monday night, explaining that seven additional wells outside the Oakland section of the town have tested positive for unsafe levels of a per-flourinated chemical, or PFA. An investigation into the source of the contamination is continuing. In the meantime, affected residents are being provided bottled water by the state.
