(Providence, RI) -- Almost two-dozen people are being charged in federal court in Providence in connection to a major drug investigation. The U.S. Attorney's Office in Providence says the case, dubbed Operation Panamera, has resulted in the seizure of at least 45 kilograms of fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana. Prosecutors said on Monday that hundreds of kilograms of fentanyl and cocaine are believed to have been moved through Rhode Island and Massachusetts by the drug-trafficking group that was targeted. The arrested individuals include a Dominican national and several Florida residents.
