Dodgers' Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully says protests by NFL players during the national anthem will keep him from watching games from now on. The 89 year old Scully made the remark during an appearance at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California over the weekend. During a question and answer session after his speech, Scully was asked about players taking a knee during the Star Spangled banner and he said "during the fall and winter, I watch the NFL on Sunday, and it's not like I'm some great patriot. I was in the Navy for a year, didn't go anywhere, didn't do anything, but I have overwhelming respect and admiration for anyone who puts on a uniform and goes to war. So the only thing that I can do in my little way is to not preach. I will never watch another NFL game." Scully's comment was greeted by lengthy applause and cheers. Scully may not consider himself a patriot, but I certainly consider him a greater patriot than Colin Kapernick or ANY of the NFL players who continue to diss the national anthem.
