HEY, CHUCK, HOW ABOUT A LITTLE RESPECT FOR THE OFFICE?

President Trump is pushing hard for a big tax cut bill, which may get a vote late this week, but he won’t get there without a fight – from members of his own party and folks across the aisle. Speaking at the White House, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he's still working to get 50 solid votes to pass the bill.

Something else they’re working on? Getting Democrats to even show up at the White House for the conversation. It seems Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi decided to skip yesterday’s get-together…and it was all because of a tweet.

Trump tweeted that he doesn't see a possible deal with "Chuck and Nancy"because they “want big tax hikes” and are “weak on crime” and immigration control. Taking to the Senate Floor, Schumer said he and Pelosi will spend more productive time negotiating directly with congressional Republican leaders.

For her part, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders is accusing Pelosi and Schumer of political grandstanding and pettiness. She said urgent issues need to be discussed as the government is set to run out of money on December 8th. “The president’s invitation to the Democrat leaders still stands,” she said in a statement. “And he encourages them to put aside their pettiness, stop the political grandstanding, show up and get to work.” When briefing reporters, Senator Schumer advised Trump to "stop tweeting and start leading."

Here's an idea, Chuck....you might not respect the MAN, but how about a little respect for the OFFICE.
