Too Soon...Too Soon!

Add Angela Lansbury to the list of famous people that are in hot water for victim shaming. In the wake of the multiple sexual harasssment and assault scandals, the 92-year-old actress says women "sometimes" have to "take the blame" for sexual misconduct.

“There are two sides to this coin,” Lansbury explains. “We have to own up to the fact that women, since time immemorial, have gone out of their way to make themselves attractive. And unfortunately it has backfired on us – and this is where we are today.

The veteran actress does admit it's unfair and that it's "awful" that women can't make themselves look "as attractive as possible without being knocked down and raped.” With all the uproar about how women are treated, Lansbury thinks things will get better. "There’s no excuse for that," she adds. "And I think it will stop now – it will have to. I think a lot of men must be very worried at this point.”

Naturally, Lansbury has been getting plenty of backlash. This tweet was my fave:

Murder She Wrote would have been quite a different show if in each episode Angela Lansbury blamed the victim.
