We told you that Matt Lauer’s team was trying to get NBC to pay him out of his contract after getting fired for sexual misconduct allegations to the tune of $30-million dollars. Sadly for Matt, that won’t be happening. A senior NBC source said that the former “Today” host “will not be paid past his last day of work,” which was last Wednesday. But don't feel too badly for him - word is that Lauer's net worth hovers around $60-million.
Meanwhile, NBCUniversal is launching an internal review of how the company handled the complaints filed against Lauer. According to NBC News Chairman Andy Lack, a team of “the most experienced NBCUniversal Legal and Human Resources leaders” has started looking into exactly what happened and how they can build a culture of “greater transparency, openness, and respect for each other.” When the review is over, they promise to share what they’ve learned – no matter how painful – and act on it.
Finally, no one’s seen Matt’s wife, Annette Roque, since this scandal began. It was rumored that the former model had taken their two younger children to the Netherlands to be with her family, but a source said that she was still at their house in the Hamptons. Supporting that, their 14-year-old daughter, Romy, was spotted leaving their home Saturday morning.
ONE MORE THING! If Annette actually DID go home to the Netherlands, it probably wouldn’t matter much to Matt. Word has it that the two have lived separate lives for years. Since 2011, she and kids have lived in Sag Harbor full-time while he stayed in their Manhattan apartment during the week. And even when he’s with his family on the weekends, he and Annette aren’t ever together.
