The so called SUPERMAN building in downtown Providence has been dark and dormant for years now. a local news website ran a story the other day saying the building would be coming down to make way for a new Hasbro headquarters. That report was poo-pooed by Pawtucket Mayor Don Grebien in an interview with NBC 10. The mayor of The Bucket's been in talks with Hasbro about a move from their Newport Avenue for months now and the mayor says the thought of the Superman building sight flies in the face of what the toymaker is all about. Grebien says Hasbro's all about creativity, technology and innovation and that lends itself more to a campus sight...building OUT not building UP. The website also suggested two of the state's biggest developers, the Paolino and Gilbane groups, intend to build THE HASBRO TOWER. Right now NEITHER own the Superman Building and the current owner had no comment for NBC 10.
