IS LAVAR BALL ACTUALLY MAKING SENSE?

LaVar Ball's ambitions go beyond his three sons' basketball careers and his Big Baller Brand sporting goods company, with ESPN reporting yesterday that the outspoken father of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball wants to create a basketball league for high school players who don't want to go to college. Additionally, Ball's envisioned Junior Basketball Association would pay its players, with salaries based on a scale matching their national ranking as high school seniors. The lowest-ranked player would get $3,000 a month, and the top-ranked player would get $10,000 a month. Ball said, "This is giving guys a chance to get a jumpstart on their career, to be seen by pro scouts, and we're going to pay them because someone has to pay these kids." Not passing up the marketing tie-in, all the players would wear Big Baller Brand apparel. Word of Ball's desire to create a league comes after he pulled his sonLiAngelo out of UCLA after the freshman, who played on the school's team, was suspended indefinitely after being arrested for shoplifting in China. The NBA has banned drafting high school players since 2005, which leads to some top prospects going to college for just one year before turning pro  Am I crazy, or does this actually make sense?
