(Providence, RI) -- The National Weather Service is issuing a winter storm warning and a blizzard warning for Rhode Island. Snow is expected to be heavy at times today with winds as strong as 50 miles-per-hour causing blowing and drifting. Snow will range from eight to 12 inches in most locations and as much as 14 inches in the Northeast area of the state. The snow should end late tonight, but the bitter cold will continue.
