CLEVELAND SAYS GOODBYE TO CHIEF WAHOO

The Cleveland Indians will ditch the Chief Wahoo logo ahead of the 2019 season, Major League Baseball said in a statement.

The controversial smiling Indian logo has sparked fiery debate from those for and against it being used. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has been a vocal critic of the logo. He cited the need for “diversity and inclusion” in the statement announcing logo would no longer be seen on the field.

First utilized on Cleveland’s uniforms in 1948, the Chief Wahoo logo has even resulted in lawsuits from Native American groups who consider it racist. Arguments both pro and con about  Chief Wahoo are so passionate it's next to impossible to have a good debate over the logo. Some people say "if ONE person is offended by something then we need to rid ourselves of it." WHAT? NO! You can find  one PERSON OFFENDED BY anything! How about the Pirates? Did THEY do good things? The Bucaneers? The Vikings? I don't think so. The Predators????? That one can certainly be taken out of context!
