Yesterday President Trump blasted congressional Democrats as "un-American" and even suggested they were treasonous for not clapping during his State of the Union address last week. Speaking after having toured a manufacturing company in Ohio, he said of the Democrats' reaction to his remarks during his address on good news about the economy, "They were like death. And un-American." Responding to something shouted out from the audience, Trump added, "Somebody said treasonous. Can we call that treason? Why not? They certainly didn’t seem to love our country very much." The dictionary's definition of treason reads : THE CRIME OF BETRAYING ONE'S COUNTRY, ESPECIALLY BY ATTEMPTING TO KILL THE SOVEREIGN OR OVERTHROW THE GOVERNMENT...so I'd say accusing Democrats who sat on their hands like a bunch of spoiled children of treason is a bit of hyperbole.
