(Woonsocket, RI) -- The manager of a former textile mill in Woonsocket is hoping to fill the vacant space with a marijuana cultivation operation. Gerry Beyer says he can't find manufacturing tenants to fill the four-story building on Singleton Street and is seeking approval from the city. Under state law 500 plants could be grown, but the city has yet to create an ordinance regulating cultivation under the state statute. Beyer says he's had several people ask about setting up a cultivation operation in the building.
