(Providence, RI) -- A Pawtucket man is among 250 people facing multiple charges in connection with an international marketing scheme. Court documents show Shawn Whitfield was a participant in a Jamaican-based lottery scam targeting the elderly. The scam entailed the victims paying upfront taxes so their cash prizes could be released. Authorities claim Whitfield collected nearly 100-thousand dollars from victims in 23 states.
