Jury Deliberating In Murder Trial

(Providence, RI) -- A jury is deliberating in the murder trial of Pawtucket man Jorge DePina . He's accused of killing his ten-year-old daughter Aleida in 2013. DePina's attorney told jurors in closing arguments in Rhode Island Superior Court on Thursday that the state proved his guilt on a manslaughter charge, not homicide. Aleida's death was caused by a perforated small intestine due to blunt-force trauma, according to a medical examiner's report.
