(Smithfield, RI) -- Several types of hard hats manufactured in Mexico and imported for distribution through the Honeywell Safety Products facility in Smithfield are being listed in a recall notice. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says the product types are Fibre-Metal E2 and North Peak A79 hard hats, which are being recalled because they can fail to protect users from impact. The commission says the recall affects 148-thousand hard hats that were sold in the U.S. and Canada.
