(Bristol, RI) -- Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse and Congressman David Cicilline are announcing a one-point-one-million-dollar grant to rehabilitate the Prudence Island Ferry Dock Pier in Bristol. The federal funding comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The congressional delegation says the current pier has deteriorated significantly over time, and that rehabbing the dock will mean the possibility of additional ferry service from Bristol to Newport and Providence.
