Woman Part Of Immigration Case Gets Stay Extended

(Providence, RI)  --  A Rhode Island woman who was detained by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement earlier this year is getting an extended stay of removal. Lillian Calderon is the lead plaintiff of a class-action suit filed by the ACLU challenging the Trump administration's pattern of separating married couples who are going through immigration cases. WPRI-TV reports Calderon, who was detained by ICE for nearly a month after starting the citizenship process in January, was given a second stay of removal after her original stay expired this past Saturday. The new extension is good through mid-August.
