"Red Flag" Gun Bill, Bump Stock Ban Pass Senate

(Providence, RI)  --  Bills banning bump stocks and creating a "red flag" law for police to disarm some individuals in Rhode Island are advancing.  The state Senate Judiciary Committee gave its approval on Thursday, setting the stage for the full Senate to take up the legislation as soon as next week.  The House approved its version of the bills last month.  The measures were introduced in response to recent mass shootings in the U.S.
