(Pawtucket, RI) -- The Pawtucket Red Sox are issuing a public statement regarding the stadium-financing bill passed by the General Assembly this weekend. The team says it will meet promptly with the city of Pawtucket to begin discussing the contents of the bill, which it says it began studying immediately upon receiving it on Friday. Governor Gina Raimondo must still sign the bill, and said on Monday she'd like for the PawSox to stay in Pawtucket in a way that protects the taxpayers. Opponents are calling for her to veto the plan.
