The National Weather Service says showers and thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall that could yield urban and poor drainage flooding. A few thunderstorms may produce strong wind gusts. Then, forecasters say heat will build across the region over the weekend, with heat indices and-or temperatures at or above 95 degrees for two or more consecutive days.
